#RSNlive16 is the second annual conference of the World Rugby Science Network. #RSNlive16 is part of the Network’s strategy to showcase leading international research relevant to the rugby codes and aims to build on the success of the inaugural event in 2015. Our goal is to deliver an exciting, accessible and informative event which will be of interest to the membership of the Network and many others involved in rugby and in the science and medicine of team sports.
#RSNlive16 is a two-day event that will take place at the University of Bath on 13 and 14 September 2016. We will use a multimedia delivery format, with a combination of face-to-face delivery, online broadcast and social networks, to reach the widest audience possible and allow interactive participation.
Speakers will share their current work across all of the World Rugby Science Network’s sections, including biomechanics, coaching science, injury prevention, match analysis, nutrition, physiology & conditioning, psychology, sports medicine, and strength & power.
Themed sessions will include:
- Tuesday 13 September – Youth Rugby, Injury Prevention, Nutrition & Supplements, Skill Development
- Wednesday 14 September – Speed & Acceleration, Cervical Spine Injuries & Rehabilitation, Long-term Player Welfare, New Thoughts in Concussion.
We have an exciting line-up of speakers already confirmed with more to follow. Please see the programme page for details. Day delegates will have ample opportunities to interact with the presenters, via extended Q&A/discussion sessions and informal conversations, and to network with other delegates.
The sessions from both days will also be live webcasted for online delegates – you will need to register as an online delegate. Online delegates will be able to interact with the conference via Q&As being conducted across social media and by engaging with commentaries on e-posters.
Delegates who wish to make a direct contribution to the conference will have the opportunity to submit an e-poster for consideration by the scientific committee. Please visit the Submission Guidelines page on the World Rugby Science Network website for details on how the poster format will run and for instructions on how to prepare and submit a poster to the conference. You can follow the conference on @RSNlive16 and use the hashtag #RSNlive16 to make reference to it . Email enquiries about this conference can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
